On Tuesday, 25 January 2022, the International Office held an activity with the theme “Tips for successfully passing selection of the Indonesia International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) 2022”. The IISMA is a scholarship program by the Government of Indonesia to fund Indonesian undergraduate students for mobility programs at leading universities abroad. This IISMA program is managed by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MECRT) of Republic of Indonesia. Undergraduate students can spend a semester at an overseas partner university to study, experience the host country’s culture, and undertake practical assignments to hone their skills. In addition, IISMA program participants also get benefits in the form of registration and tuition fees, transportation allowances, living allowances, health insurance, visa allowances, and PCR tests. Requirements to take part in the IISMA program include active undergraduate students (for semesters 4-6, Indonesian citizen), good English skills (proven by English certificate; IELTS (6.0), TOEFL-iBT (78), Duolingo English Test (100)), received a recommendation from the university of origin (proven by a letter of recommendation from the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs), and a minimum GPA of 3.0 (showing the latest academic transcript).

This event was guided by Mrs. Zarkiani Hasyim S.Pd, M.Pd. The first remarks was given by the head of the International office, Prof. Marsetyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. He expressed his gratitude to the student participants who had attended this activity and that this activity was a good opportunity or opportunity for students to achieve their dreams of being able to study abroad with the IISMA program. This event aims to share the information about the program and to share the experience from IISMA awardee. Through this event, the ability of students who able to participate is being identified. So, they can submit their application to the IISMA program which will be held this year in March 2022.

In this event, Prof. Dr. Ir. Amar, ST, MT, vice rector for development and cooperation affairs of Tadulako University, gave his speech as well as opened the event. He conveyed his great appreciation to the International Office for holding the event. He also hoped students or participants pay close attention to the information provided. He also said that the iisma program is very good to participate in increasing knowledge, especially language capability and building build communication in the external environment, so don’t miss this great opportunity to experience a good education in the 73 best universities in various countries.

The material presentation were guided by Mr. Mukrim, S.Pd, M.Ed, Ph.D. There were two presenters in this event, namely Mr. Elisa Sesa, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D who focusing his presentation on the IISMA program and Isa Hanif Emeraldi is an IISMA Awardee in 2021. He explained a little about the IISMA program and the benefits that he has received from the program. He also shared his experience during the IISMA program at the University of Limerick in Ireland.
